This week we ate all of these things, including quite a bit of Indian food which we thought we hated but turns out we actually love. A lot.
This morning we wandered some more.
We hit up the Khoo Kongsi, a famous Chinese clanhouse built some 650 years ago. Tried the renowned Teochew Chendul, a street cart serving the popular Malaysian dessert of shaved ice with soft palm flour noodles, coconut milk, gula melaka and kidney beans. (Very interesting.) Had a bracelet made for a gift. And experienced the colors, aromas and Bollywood sounds of Little India.
Today we were inspired by the street art of George Town.
The beautiful children (and one older gentleman) are painted by Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic. ("Little Girl in Blue," "Little Children on a Bicycle," "Boy on a Bike," "Little Boy with Pet Dinosaur," "Reaching Up" and "The Awaiting Trishaw Paddler.")
"The Old Indian Woman" is a gift from Russian artist Julia Volchkova.
The rest are various artists, all adding to George Town's vibrant street art scene.
